Job Description:

Serve as an on-site Matrixed Security Specialist.  Assist with orchestrating protective measures to safeguard BMDS information from loss, compromise, or unauthorized disclosure and to protect Agency workforce, facilities, and infrastructure from acts of terrorism, insider threat, and the effects of natural disasters. Develop and administer security programs and procedures for classified programs and/or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment in accordance with Agency and DoD policies. Prepare instructions, standard operating procedures, fixed facility checklists outlining regulations, and establish procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitors access to restricted records and materials. Serve as the site Operations Security (OPSEC) representative, conduct assessments and provide OPSEC awareness briefings.

 

The Applicant will:

  • Assist in the identification of classified National Security Information, Restricted or Formerly Restricted Data, and militarily critical technology. 

  • Assist in the identification and handling of NATO classified and unclassified information and in the identification of information exempted from release IAW the FOIA (5 U.S.C. § 552) and application of the appropriate exemption(s) to the information. 

  • Assist in the identification of Critical Program Information (CPI), Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) concerns, and have a deep understanding of Program Protection Planning as outlined in DoD Directives 5200.39 and 5200.44.

  • Must develop and administer security programs and procedures for classified programs and/or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment in accordance with MDA and DoD policies.

  • Assist in the preparation of manuals, standard operating procedures, fixed facility checklists outlining regulations, and establish procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitors access to restricted records and materials.

  • Coordinate security education classes and security audits.

  • Investigate security violations and prepare reports specifying preventive action to be taken for approval.                    

   

Basic Qualifications:

  • Knowledge with DoD security and program protection operations

  • Knowledge of the DoD and major systems or programs

  • Ability to constructively engage and resolve challenging situations

  • Independent self-starter, proactive and professional assertive

  • 8 years of relevant experience with DoD security and program protection.  

  • BA/BS degree (Science, technology, Engineering and Math – STEM- degree preferred). An additional 5 years of security experience can be substituted for the BA/BS degree.

  • Top Secret Clearance required

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent office software skills

  • Excellent competency with the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
